Associate Professor Zhenyu Qian, Purdue University, USA

Dr. Cheryl Zhenyu Qian is an Associate Professor of Interaction Design in Industrial Design at Purdue University. She developed and leads the new Purdue University Interaction Design MFA program. Her current research is focused on 1) the harmonious integration of physical and virtual interactions in the user experience design, 2) adopting interaction design theories, tools, and evaluation methods to review, compare, guide, and enhance product design outcomes, and 3) employing innovative design thinking into the domain of visual analytics. Apart from winning eleven IEEE VAST challenge system design awards and three international interactive system design awards, Cheryl has built up a 60+ publication list ranging from journals, conference proceedings, and book translations in the interdisciplinary domains

President' Professor Andy Kliskey, University of Idaho, USA

Andy Kliskey is President’s Professor of Community & Landscape Resilience and the Director of the University of Idaho Center for Resilient Communities (CRC). Kliskey is also the Idaho EPSCoR Director (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research). He is a social-ecological systems scientist and behavioral geographer with training, teaching and research experience in landscape ecology, behavioral and perceptual geography, geographic information systems (GIS), planning, policy analysis, and surveying. Andy has spent the last 20 years working in Maori communities in New Zealand, rural communities in western Canada, Inupiat communities in northwestern Alaska, Denai’na communities in southcentral Alaska, and rural communities in Idaho examining community and landscape resilience. His teaching and research is interdisciplinary in nature and directed at integrated methodologies in social-ecological systems that combines stakeholder-engagement, scenario analysis, and geospatial modeling. Kliskey is project lead on two NSF Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems (INFEWS) awards.

Associate Professor Chun Hyun Jin, College of Art of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics

Chun Hyun Jin, majored in Landscape Design, graduated Ph.D. program from Seoul National University in 2015. He is currently an associate professor at the College of Art of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is the Youth Commissioner of the Asian Cultural Landscape Society (ACLA), member of the Korea Landscape Society, member of the Korea Rural Planning Society, and a former member of the United States Congress Jim Matheson's office. Chun Hyun Jin has rich research experience and research results in landscape architecture and urban planning. And he has presided over one special fund for basic scientific research in Southeast University, published SCI paper, five KCI core papers and one national book. In Seoul City Park Planning and Design Competition, he won the first prize.

Associate Professor Harry den Hartog, Tongji University, Shanghai, China

Harry den Hartog is a Dutch urban designer and researcher based in Shanghai since 2008. In 2004 he founded the think tank studio 'Urban Language'. Since 2012 Harry den Hartog is a faculty member at Tongji University in Shanghai where he lectures urban design and housing and coaches design studios. His research interests are mainly focused on new town developments, peri-urban and rural areas, with a special attention to the role of open urban space and water. He is frequently asked as participant and organizer of debates and exhibits by various organizations in Europe and Asia. He also regularly writes publications for various local and international media. Since 2017 he became a member of the Editorial Board of the journal 'Built Heritage'.

Associate Professor Kim Tong Jin, Purdue University, USA

Kim Tong Jin is an associate professor of industrial design at Purdue University, teaching strategic product development process and methods. He is also a founder of “Wonder Makerspaces,” a Global Maker education platform that focuses on experiential learning through technology. Before joining Academia, he has also worked at consultancy and corporate for more than 18 years as a design leader, delivering leading-edge products and business solutions. His developed more than 300 product solutions, won over 30 international design awards, and hold more than 70 US patents. He has been involved with various universities and design communities, giving lectures on design thinking, maker education, technology integration, and coordinating many innovation workshops for non-designers and community organizations.

Professor Kim Pyeoungkee, Silla University, Korea

Kim Pyeoungkee was born in Daegu city, Korea in 1965. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph. D. degree in Computer Engineering from Kyungpook National University, Korea in 1988, 1990 and 1995 respectively. He is currently working as a professor in the department of Computer S/W Engineering and a head of Convergence Engineering department in the graduate school of Silla University of Korea. His research interests include machine learning, AI in education and healthcare, and creative convergence education. He has been serving the international academic association IACST (International Association for Convergence, Science & Technology) as the president since 2015. During the last three years, he organized ICCT international conferences in ChiangMai (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), and Shaoxing (China). Recognizing the importance of creativity education through coding and make movement, he is now founding an international foundation and making an ISO certified international coding certificate.

Professor Kwon Eunsok, University of Houston, USA

Professor Kwon, Eunsok, PhD, IDSA, developed the curriculum of the industrial design program at Hines College of Architecture and Design, University of Houston. She was recognized on DesignIntelligence’s list of “Most Admired Educators” for two years for “her insight to nurture and grow the program with her vision and passion.”Kwon is an expert on creative design thinking and design strategy development. She holds a BFA in industrial design and a master’s degree from Seoul National University; and a master’s degree and PhD from The Ohio State University. She has served as juror on many design competitions including IDSA’s International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
